What is a 147c Letter? 

Generally, business entities need an EIN or Employer Identification Number. If a company has applied for it, has been given one, but has lost it, what do you do? 

Commonly known as an “EIN Letter”, 147c Letter is a form that the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) will send you if you need to ask the IRS for your Employer Identification Number (EIN). This can be requested by the company itself or by a third party with their permission.
