If you hear the phrase “hourly to salary,” don’t be overwhelmed. This will not be about complicated math. On the contrary, hourly to salary is something that you can figure out easily, as we will find out below.

What is the meaning of “hourly to salary”? 
 

Hourly to salary is a conversion. It is used to determine how much your salary will be if all you know is your hourly wage rate. If you are comparing different jobs or you just want to know how much you make in a year, that is what the hourly to salary conversion is for. 

To compute hourly to salary, you will have to know three things: 

• How much you are paid per hour (hourly wage)
• Number of hours you work in a week
• The number of weeks in a year

Let’s have an example:

Tom is an hourly employee. He is paid $15 per hour and works 40 hours per week. Remember that 52 is the number of weeks in a year. 

                                                                     $15 × 40 × 52 = $31,200

In this example, Tom’s annual salary is $31,200.
