Job Summary/Objective:

As a Full-Time Head Cashier at Nyberg's ACE, you need to have evening and weekend availability. This role will play a crucial role in maintaining the smooth operation of our store's front end. You will be responsible for scheduling and leading cashiers, hiring and training staff, and ensuring the cleanliness and inviting atmosphere of the front end and checkout area. This role involves performing register transactions, providing excellent customer service, and promoting a positive shopping experience for our valued customers.

REQUIREMENTS:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Responsibilities:

• Schedule and coordinate cashier shifts, ensuring adequate coverage.
• Receive and manage minor purchase orders efficiently.
• Lead the cashier team, hiring and training new members effectively.
• Maintain the cleanliness and appealing presentation of the cash wrap area.
• Conduct register transactions, including sales and returns of merchandise.
• Project a positive and friendly demeanor, providing excellent customer service.
• Greet customers upon entry, thank them by name when leaving.
• Assist customers with store layout, product location, and inquiries.
• Balance the register drawer and follow cash register procedures.
• Participate in Store Support Center programs and promotions.
• Keep the front end tidy, facing and dusting areas as needed.
• Stock impulse counters and carts with fresh merchandise.
• Ensure availability of forms, supplies, and promotional materials.
• Collaborate in decorating the front end according to company guidelines.
• Notify management of merchandise returns for proper handling.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Quick learner with strong information retention skills.
• Preferred experience in leading small teams or management roles.
• Ability to effectively train and delegate tasks to other cashiers.
• Customer service experience is essential.
• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, lift (up to 30lbs), and climb.
