We've all been there… we're not sure what to order, so we do our best to make a good choice only to sit down and see something scrumptious at the next table… maybe it's a Shake or Bacon & Avocado on a sandwich that we didn't know was an option. We don’t want them thinking, “next time I’ll order the Shake”, we want them devouring a Shake because you shared your favorite with them, and they ordered it!

How to SCORE as a FOH Team Member:
- Take pride in knowing our menu and you’re ability to upsell and suggestive sell to every Guest.
- Help with the success and profitability of your Restaurant by:
o Following the Big Chicken Order Flow, asking questions and always Upselling and/or Suggestive Selling. Every order can be made better by asking questions & making suggestions.
o Setting daily personal goals to increase your Check Average.
o Ensuring order accuracy, from taking the order to Guest delivery. o Following all Cash Handling and Policies and Procedures.
o Working Safe by following all Big Chicken Safety Regulations and Standards.
- Take pride in your Restaurant by:
o Maintaining clean and sanitary work Stations, Dining Room, Restrooms and other Guest areas, following all Food Safety Regulations and
Standards.
o Following tasks outlined on the Open/Transition/Close Checklists and completing them in a timely manner.
Cashier Job Description:
We are looking for a qualified and responsible cashier to manage all transactions with our customers efficiently and accurately.
A good job candidate is a person who knows their way around a cash register and can easily operate it, together with a product scanner. Their main responsibilities include accepting payments and providing receipts, making sure all transactions run smoothly and every customer is satisfied with the service.
The cashier we would like to employ must be able to interact with our customers in a friendly manner, and provide assistance should any customer require it. Excellent communication skills are paramount to help us continue to delight our customers and provide them with an outstanding experience.
A qualified candidate must also be able to follow instructions and be a successful member of our team. Previous experience is an advantage, and solid math and multitasking skills are a must.
Responsibilities of a Cashier:
- Greeting customers when entering and leaving the premises
- Managing transactions using a cash register
- Balancing the cash register
- Making sure pricing and quantities are accurate
- Accepting payments in cash, credit
- Providing change and receipts
- Issuing gift cards
- Bagging purchased goods for safe transport
- Upselling and cross-selling when appropriate
Essential Functions

- Maintain a clean and professional appearance.
- Ensure all required work cards are kept in good standing at all times.
- Communicate with guests using clear and enthusiastic words, tone and body language at all times. Make guests feel appreciated through team member’s actions.
- Work as a team with all Big Chicken's staff to maintain an effective atmosphere and an efficient food and beverage service.
- Work with others to keep all areas cleaned and stocked to Big Chicken's standards at all times.
- Ability to sell alcohol and food items.
- Able to use a computer to ring orders on a check.
- Able to accept different types of payment and make change.
- Ability to clear and reset tables.
- Be attentive! Offer assistance before the guest has to ask for it.
- Count drinks guests are served.
- Verify guest’s ID in accordance with Company standards.
- Serve alcohol responsibly. Should a guest reach the state where the bartender does not feel the guest should drive, do not hesitate to ask for management intervention if necessary.
- Report to all scheduled shifts no later than the scheduled start time.

Work Environment
This job operates in a Restaurant environment and may be working in close proximity to co-workers. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. Hazards may include, but are not limited to, cuts, slipping and tripping.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Walk and stand during entire shift.
- Continuously reach, bend, lift, carry, stoop and wipe.
- Remain stationary for long periods of time.
- Frequently wash hands.
- Be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Be able to manipulate fingers, hands and arms to cut, measure, pour, serve, carry and wipe.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This position regularly requires long hours and frequent weekend work.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
- Must be 16 or older.
- Must maintain an applicable Food Handler permit and TABC certification
Work Authorization/Security Clearance
Must be eligible to work in the United States.
