POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Bar Manager, the Barback provides a supportive role to bar staff. Anticipate the needs of Bartenders and make trips to the storeroom to get clean glasses, restock alcoholic beverages behind the bar and supply napkins, straws, and food products
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (Key Tasks and Responsibilities):
Demand for Excellence
• Keep the bar stocked with liquor, syrups, glasses, napkins, and all other necessary items before and during service hours.
• Prepare garnishes, refill ice wells, change beer kegs and restock napkins and straws.
Passion for Hospitality
• Coordinate with managers, kitchen staff and security personnel to ensure efficient service to customers.
• Observes bar guests to ensure that guests are satisfied with food, beverages, and service; immediately recognizes and responds to any guest’s needs and/or requests.
Hunger to Grow
• Adheres to and complies with all state/local liquor laws and RCSH policies regarding the service of alcoholic beverages.
Unwavering Commitment
• Keeping the bar clean by wiping down surfaces, sweeping and mopping, removing soiled glassware, scrubbing coolers and storage areas, and emptying trash receptacles.
Desire to Win
• Practices teamwork by assisting fellow employees whenever possible, to enhance our guests’ experience.
• Maintain records and report levels of usage to assist in the reordering process and ensuring that delivered items are stored properly.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS (Minimum qualifications needed to perform essential job functions):
• Must be able to lift, handle and carry beverage items, supplies, glass racks, smallwares and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Must have a good sense of balance, be able to bend, kneel, stoop, reach and squat on a frequent basis to obtain and store food, beverage items, smallwares and service equipment.
• Must be able to constantly stand and exert well-paced mobility for a period up to four hours in length.
• Must be able to communicate effectively and listen attentively to supervisors, employees and guests.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
• Highschool diploma or G.E.D,
• Must maintain a current valid permit to serve alcohol as required by the State for which services are provided
• Prior restaurant hospitality experience,
• Attention to Detail: Proven ability accomplish a task with concern for accuracy in all the areas involved, monitoring, and checking work or information and plans, organizing time and resources efficiently, and following up with others to ensure commitments have been fulfilled,
• Collaboration/Teamwork: Proven ability to successfully work toward a common goal with others, including actively listening to others, taking responsibility for mistakes, and respecting the diversity of your colleagues,
• Customer Focus: Proven ability to gain insight into customer needs, identifying opportunities that benefit the customer, building and delivering solutions to meet customer expectations and establishing and maintaining loyal customer relationships,
• Problem Solver: Proven ability to solve problems by analyzing situations and apply critical thinking in order to resolve problems and decide on courses of action and implement the solutions developed in order to overcome problems and constraints,
• Must successfully complete restaurant training program.
