Job Description: Inventory Control Specialist


Position Overview:

  • The inventory control specialist is responsible for the verifying, organizing, & submission of daily truck orders. 
  • The control specialist embodies being a team player in serving the team in ensuring that our inventory items are where we need them, when we need them, in the right amount and condition. 
  • The control specialist demonstrates an attention to detail and a desire to pursue excellence.

Position Benefits:

  • Part time, morning hours allows for maximum flexibility (9-15 hours/week)
  • Introduction to Chick-fil-A supply chain from the restaurant perspective 

Job Expectations:   

  • Candidate must be available to work 6am-9am at least three days per week (including Saturdays)
  • Candidate must be flexible to meet the demands of the role 
  • Position reports to the Director of Stewardship
  • Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position which includes, but is not limited to, standing for the duration of the shift and lifting up to 50lbs
  • Demonstrates proficiency in utilizing technological tools and systems

  Required Development

  1. Complete initial training in receiving truck
  2. Complete initial training in ordering truck
  3. Completion of lean training - A methodology focused on maximizing value added to guests while minimizing waste 

Key Responsibilities:   

  • Ensure all  items are received in the right quantity and right condition 
  • Follow FIFO
  • Ensure items are stored in correct location
  • Submit necessary claims
  • Create and submit truck orders
  • Reduce stock-outs
  • Ensure correct product on-hand amounts
