As a Line Cook / Prep Cook at LOCAL Public Eatery, you are responsible for preparing and delivering the unexpected with precision and skill. Your goal is to create an unforgettable culinary experience that intrigues guests and leaves them in awe. Your judgment of quality is key; as others rely on you. There’s a lot of food and equipment to keep track of and working as a team is critical to your success.
Duties
- Exude professionalism, friendliness and fun towards guests and fellow partners.
- Prep all ingredients and food products to fulfill prep lists, par levels, and recipe standards.
- Utilize various prep and cooking methods to ensure the quick, precise creation of our menu items in accordance with LOCAL Public Eatery recipes. Wash, chop, cut, grill, roast, sauté, fry, etc. Coordinate with other stations.
- Develop knife skills for efficiency and safety.
- Communicate with the team to deliver perfect food coordination.
- Maintain prep and cooking areas in a clean, sanitary, and safe manner.
- Clean, organize, and maintain refrigerators, cooler drawers, ovens, prep and dry storage areas, etc.
- Complete assigned side work and closing duties to set your team up for success. Stock, clean, and organize line stations.
- Follow all instructions and guidelines for safe usage of kitchen equipment and cleaning compounds. Report equipment problems and maintenance issues to leadership immediately.
- Follow all food service and handling safety precautions and procedures.
What’s required
- 1+ years of experience in a fast-paced and high-volume kitchen.
- The ability to connect with others; you know that teamwork means success.
- A passion for cooking, you enjoy the innovation of our menus.
- You continuously seek opportunities to grow and learn.
- Must have or be able to obtain valid local and/or state Food Handler permits.
- Be able to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time; frequent bending, reaching, and stretching; repetitive manual tasks; and lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
