Qualifications:
Qualifications include,
Must be available for day and evening shifts including weekends and holidays.
Able to work an exempt salary position working 50+ hour weeks.
Excellent verbal and written skills focused on service executed in person, over the phone, email, and under stress.
Professional demeanor and appearance are required.
Able to safely lift up to 50 pounds able to reach, bend, stoop.
Experience implementing and maintaining training programs with continued assessment.
POS back end experience a plus, setting up menu buttons, running reports, adjusting pricing.
Microsoft Office proficient.
Excellent communication skills especially during stressful and sensitive conversations and situations.
HR policies knowledge and experience implementing them, proficient with CA labor laws and regulations.
Food handling certification.
Work in a team environment to provide an excellent guest experience.
Be punctual and communicate with kindness and respect.
Responsible service of alcohol, carry heavy hot dishes, move at a fast pace.
Ability to communicate and serve families with small children.
Valid driver’s license and Spanish speaking skills a plus.
Ability to take and execute direction professionally and successfully from all supervisory team members.

Working Conditions |
This position requires multi-tasking and orchestrating several tasks at one time. It may require working late hours, weeknights, weekend nights, and holidays. Working in crowds and navigating trays, hot dishes with hot food through crowded environment may be required. This position may require employees to work in a small space with high temperature and hot surfaces. This position may require working outside in direct sunlight, windy conditions, and exposed to birds. This position may require working in cold temperatures with cold surfaces. Working under high stress circumstances may be required handling sensitive, delicate, private employee relations. Working in a loud environment with several conversations, music, and outside noise. Handling difficult employees and guests. Managing possible crisis including robberies, theft, safety concerns, active shooters. Skid and slip resistant footwear and appropriate clothing may be required. This position may require working mostly outside exposed to outside temperatures and weather including possible rain. This position may expose employees to car horns, car exhaust fumes from the street, and to homeless individuals. It may be required to drive to and from for deliveries and/or offsite events that may expose employee to traffic and other drivers as well as driving a car, refueling, and presenting mileage reimbursement when using personal vehicles. The working conditions of this position may expose employee to close proximity to a marijuana shop/children’s school.
Physical Requirements |
This position requires standing for extended periods of time in some instances the entirety of the shift not to include break periods and meal periods. Working under hot temperatures near hot cooking surfaces. It may require heavy lifting occasionally and working with sharp utensils. It may require the individual to work in cold temperatures. Handle frozen food and handle food that may be contaminated such as raw food and seafood. Standing on cement hard surfaces for extended periods of time. Walking, working, standing, cleaning, and navigating on gravel may be required. May be required to work offsite for special events, caterings, deliveries, and driving a car for deliveries. May be required to handle difficult employees, difficult guests, homeless individuals, and assist with any other critical operational demand.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The assistant general manager duties and responsibilities include the following but are not limited to this overview,
Exemplify excellent service and handle guest relations with a service-oriented mindset.
Check on employee knowledge and training, execute new hire training, and manage assessment tools regularly.
Maintain and implement and provide feedback for continued improved training programs and documents.
Opening and closing duties, provide breaks to the staff including expediters, cashiers.
Set and maintain staff buy in with incentives, training and learning goals, and assessment.
Monitor and observe guest dining experience and ensure satisfaction of food and service.
Give prompt and courteous response to guest and supervisor requests.
Identify opportunities for staff improvement, policy and procedure improvement and provide feedback.
Cash handling including reporting financials at end of day, deposits, and sensitive information management.
Communicate nightly via the manager log.
Issue and document corrective action including terminations and separations.
Responsible for repairs and maintenance of the restaurant including POS, phones, printers, audio system, lighting.
Constant communication with GM and upper management including responding to emails and Slack promptly.
Ensure safety and sanitation standards are being kept and upheld daily by all staff members.
Manage safety inspections and understand what is asked and how to handle inspectors and their requests.
Attend required meetings and participate in team trainings.
Assist in cleaning projects, deep cleaning, cleaning up irregular messes including back areas, restrooms, guest areas, employee areas, stock rooms, coolers, sweeping, mopping.
Manage breaks and substitute for employees while they enjoy their breaks.
Be the point person for FOH staff as well as BOH staff in conjunction with BOH management.
Write and keep FOH scheduling with at least two weeks of scheduling posted in advance.
May be required to deliver via a car offsite deliveries and caterings and work offsite on occasion for special events.

Be part of the leadership team and a resource of team members. To drive our rigorous training programs to ensure proper staff training and retention. To participate and lead with GM direction the daily managing of the restaurant and set daily goals for team members.
