Job Purpose:
The Front of the House Shift Leader is an exemplary individual tasked with setting an example of 4505 values, mission, and beliefs. Shift leaders are supervisors and support the team to achieve an outstanding guest satisfaction and employee experience. Shift leaders communicate with management team on all guest issues and employee relations. Shift leaders may provide direction and may address guest issues.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The FOH Shift Leader duties and responsibilities include the following but are not limited to this overview,
• Have strong multitasking and communication skills to handle guest and employee issues.
• Be knowledgeable, informed, and current on our menu offerings.
• Be a service leader who exemplifies excellent service set the standard for the service experiences our guests will receive.
• Complete mastery of each FOH position, food runner, cashier, To-Go Phone Specialist.
• Assist with training of new hires.
• Opening and closing duties
o Fill out daily schedule and daily pertinent information on operations guide.
o Input pre orders into POS and follow pre-order protocol.
o Update product listing including specials and beverage changes.
o Cash handling opening and closing.
o Fill out closing communication log as needed.
• Clear, clean, wipe, and reset tables assist all FOH positions, fill any role when needed.
• Assist in break schedule.
• Act as a conduit between MOD, BOH, and FOH team members.
• Assist with producing, verifying, and auditing weekly inventory.
• Meet with management as needed to discuss staff, events, systems, issues, and solutions.
• Contribute to the creation and implementation of systems and policies for excellent product and service.
• Give prompt and courteous response to guest and supervisor requests.
• Ensure that safety and sanitation standards are being met at all times and promote a culture of safety.
• Stock and clean restrooms frequently throughout service.
• Anticipate guest and team member needs.
• Communicate in a professional, positive, and respectful manner with all team members and guests.
• Assist in cleaning projects, deep cleaning, cleaning up irregular messes including back areas, restrooms, guest areas, employee areas, stock rooms, coolers, sweeping.
• May be required to deliver via a car offsite deliveries and caterings and work offsite on occasion for special events.
Qualifications:
Qualifications include,
• Must be available for day and evening shifts including weekends and holidays and have a flexible schedule.
• Hard working and self-motivating, comfortable juggling multiple deadlines and priorities.
• Excellent guest service skills, in person, over the phone, and during high stress circumstances.
• Interested in being part of a tight-knit team, able to step up and work outside of comfort zone on a regular basis.
• Able to rally the team and be a leader to the team especially during stressful situations.
• In-Depth POS systems experience, basic troubleshooting, TOAST experience a plus.
• Microsoft office skills word document excel a plus.
• Have a passion for the sustainable food and hospitality industry.
• Professional demeanor and appearance are required.
• Able to safely lift up to 50 pounds able to reach, bend, stoop.
• Work in a fast pace environment under high pressure circumstances.
• Be at least 18 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages.
• Accurate and fast cash handling and payment handling abilities.
• Food handling certification.
• Be punctual.
• Communicate with kindness and respect.
• Ability to adhere and follow a rigorous training.
• Responsible service of alcohol, carry heavy hot dishes, move at a fast pace.
• Ability to communicate, accommodate and serve families with small children.
• Ability to take and execute direction professionally and successfully from all supervisory team members.
• Strong background in restaurant 2 years’ experience preferred with proven track record of teamwork.
