J&W Heating and Air + Plumbing is looking for an HVAC Service Technician to join our team. 

The Role

We’re looking for exceptional service technicians to deliver the most efficient, highest quality customer experiences in residential HVAC repair.

As an HVAC service technician, you will work as part of a dynamic and passionate team to demonstrate technical competence and ensure desired sales metrics. You will go into our clients’ homes to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair their residential heating and cooling systems, as well as complete assigned preventative maintenance as well as lead customers to informed and confident buying decisions. 

Responsibilities

• Complete HVAC in-home, service calls on equipment 
• Know how to establish customer rapport to sell the right products and services.
• Ask the right lifestyle questions to troubleshoot heating and cooling system malfunctions.  
• Educate and assist customers in choosing the best finance options and maintenance plans.
• Understand your sales criteria and hold yourself accountable for exceeding revenue goals.
• Show yourself as professional and knowledgeable to win new referrals and repeat business.
• Work alongside customer service and dispatch to ensure overall success of the business.
• Maintain a clean, organized job site and well inventoried truck.
• Participate actively in all training exercises, morning meetings, trade shows and retreats.
• Train and mentor apprentices to ensure quick, accurate repairs and installations.
• Be accurate and timely with invoices, time cards, curbside feedback and option sheets.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience as an HVAC service technician
• Knowledge of local HVAC codes and ability to make on-the-job applications.
• Proven track record in heating and cooling systems
• Continued education and training to obtain NATE certification
• Clean, safe driving record
• Clean and neat appearance
• Highly organized with exceptional follow-through abilities
• Strong verbal and written communications
• High integrity with advanced social skills and ability to make solid   connections
• Highly motivated, self-starter who’s flexible and has a great attitude on life
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair HVAC equipment
• Complete service calls in a timely manner, treating customers and employees with respect, courtesy, and professionalism
• Communicate effectively with customers, manager, dispatcher, and sales
• Participate in the normal rotation of after-hours and weekend standby duty
• Identify new customers and additional opportunities within existing accounts
