POSITION:
The Risk Manager will be responsible for the company’s
insurance and risk management program and will provide support on other legal
department matters.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work with outside agent or broker to timely procure and
renew sufficient company-required insurance policies at competitive rates.
Investigate, report, manage and document insurance
claims and litigation arising under general liability,
property, casualty and executive liability insurance policies, as well as workers’
compensation.
Interface with carrier
representative, claim administrator or counsel regarding all matters of claim
and litigation support and settlement or resolution of claims.
Ensure that claim reserves and company-documented accruals are proper and
supported by claim information and documentation.
Perform periodic reviews or audits of pending claims and litigation, and
related services, with agent or broker representative.
Provide reports to management as required detailing outstanding
liabilities, claim loss or financial data, and other risk or insurance information.
Work with other departments or outside parties to develop, implement and
maintain programs, procedures and policies to mitigate risk, prevent loss and develop
safety plans.
Provide continuing training on risk and safety issues at company and café
levels, conduct café risk inspections, and maintain required posting of notices
to cafes.
Obtain or provide necessary certificates of insurance
for franchisees and vendors of company and ensure compliance with company’s
insurance requirements and that company is maintaining the coverage required by various company partnerships and business
relationships.
Organize and maintain various risk, insurance and legal department
records and process department-related invoices and premiums.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledgeable on insurance and risk matters with 3+ years in a risk
management or legal department, or with an insurer or insurance firm.
Able to effectively utilize risk management information system
applications.
Able to travel out of state once a year and regularly within DFW.
Excellent, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
Extremely detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills.
