Well-established South County restaurant is looking for an energetic front of the house manager to join our team! There's always something going on in this historic downtown Wakefield restaurant and we're looking forward to another great fun fall!
- Responsible for managing day-to-day operations of a high volume, multi-area restaurant and overseeing all front of the house staff while on shift. Looking for someone who possess an overall understanding of scheduling, staff training & development, customer service, and guest retention. Our ideal candidate will have a strong service industry background, should be self-driven and results oriented with the ability to build & bring a team together as we are always striving to improve our level of service.
Core Duties & Responsibilities
- Represent the restaurant by being present on the floor during peak hours of business
- Develop a guest-centric culture that consistently delivers excellent service and food quality
- Utilize team-building skills to maximize employee satisfaction
- Establish sales incentives and help coordinate in-house promotions
- Hiring, training, employee development, and staff retention
- Identify training needs and initiate the development of new training programs to build a culture of continuous growth
- Identify and research ways to improve the flow of business
- Responsible for keeping up with the overall appearance of the restaurant
Required Knowledge & Experience
- Energetic, outgoing personality; looking to build relationships both internally & with guests
- Staff training, development & scheduling
- Experience with restaurant POS systems preferred
- Knowledge of the craft beer industry a plus
- Demonstrate clear communication, problem solving and follow-up skills
- High level of customer service experience
- Strong people management skills and ability to oversee varying levels of employees
- Ability to work effectively in high pressure, busy situations
- Commitment and enthusiasm
- Desire to challenge oneself as a leader and build a strong team
- 2+ years of restaurant management experience preferred but with train the right person!
- Ability to work 40-45 hours/week in multi-level restaurant
- AM/PM/Weekend availability
