Reports to: Front of the House Director
Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Lead, train, and motivate front-line employees, including cashiers, hosts/hostesses, and dining room attendants. Set performance expectations, provide ongoing feedback, and recognize outstanding performance.
- Customer Service Excellence: Ensure exceptional customer service by greeting guests, addressing their needs, and resolving any issues or complaints. Train and coach team members to deliver the Chick-fil-A standard of service and hospitality.
- Front Counter Operations: Oversee front counter operations, including order taking, cash handling, and order accuracy. Monitor service times, optimize efficiency, and ensure a smooth flow of operations.
- Drive-Thru Operations: Coordinate and manage drive-thru operations to ensure speedy and accurate order taking, payment processing, and delivery of orders. Monitor and address any issues related to drive-thru efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Dining Area Management: Ensure cleanliness, organization, and maintenance of the dining area. Monitor dining room flow, cleanliness, and customer comfort. Address any issues promptly and maintain a welcoming atmosphere.
- Shift Management: Schedule and supervise front-line employees, ensuring adequate staffing levels and smooth operations. Coordinate breaks, delegate tasks, and manage labor costs while maintaining exceptional service standards.
- Senior Shift Leader Support: Support the Front of the House Director by taking on junior management duties, such as assisting in scheduling and holding team members accountable for performance and adherence to company policies.
- Manage and Supervise Shift Leaders: Provide guidance and support to shift leaders, ensuring they have the necessary resources and training to effectively lead their teams. Monitor their performance and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
- Cash Management: Responsible for cash handling procedures, including cash register management, accuracy in counting and reconciling cash, and following cash handling policies and procedures.
- Work in Any Position: Willingness to work in any front-line position as needed, including cashier, host/hostess, or dining room attendant, to support operations and provide hands-on assistance to the team.
- Flexibility: Ability to work flexible shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on the needs of the restaurant.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations. Promote a culture of safety and adherence to standard operating procedures.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with team members, other managers, and departments to ensure smooth operations and resolve any issues or challenges that arise.
- Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records and reports related to sales, labor, customer feedback, and any operational issues. Provide necessary reports to upper management.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a kitchen management or leadership role, preferably in the restaurant or hospitality industry.
- Strong knowledge of back of the house operations, including food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen safety procedures.
- Proficiency in managing inventory, placing orders, and controlling costs.
- Excellent leadership and team-building skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on the needs of the restaurant.
- Proficient computer skills and familiarity with restaurant management systems.
