Food Runner Job Description:
Food Runners are responsible for delivering food from the kitchen to guests in a timely manner and must possess a thorough knowledge of the menu in order to answer any questions guests might have once their dishes arrive. Food Runners will also assist with preparing rolled silverware, polishing glassware, and drying plates for expo station. Overall, food runners at Water Oak will assists in delivering an excellent service experience. The restaurant cannot function properly without trained, and reliable Food Runners.
Responsibilities of a Food Runner:
- Adhere to proper uniform standards, clean and in good repair
- Deliver food to guests table from the kitchen rapidly and accurately
- Memorize all table numbers for accuracy
- Working knowledge of menu to be able to communicate to guest food items delivered
- Help roll Silverware
- Pre-bus tables always enter kitchen with full hands
- Keep front line expo area swept and wiped down
- Interact and connect with our guests, being polite and answering any questions
- Team player, help each other out for a smooth running restaurant
Food Runner Job Requirements:
- High school degree preferred but not required
- Ability to study and memorize menu item details
- Good sense of urgency
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to effectively resolve complaints
- Proper Uniform adherence with clean, appropriate uniform standards
Food Handler and TABC certificate required upon hire
