Safety Coordinator

Job Summary:

The Safety Coordinator is responsible for ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety (OHS) guidelines in a workplace. They play a crucial role in promoting a safe working environment by advising on safety measures, conducting risk assessments, and enforcing preventative measures. Their primary goal is to establish a safe workplace according to legal standards and foster a culture of attention to health and safety.


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for promoting the organization's strong workplace safety, health, and environmental program.
  • Assures company compliance with federal and state safety regulations to reduce accidents and workplace injuries.
  • Ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements of OSHA, MSHA, DOT, EPA, ADEQ, NFPA 70E, and any other applicable agencies.
  • Recommend policies, goals, and objectives for the company’s safety program.
  • Provides training in safe working practices, safety regulations, field standards and conduct, and safe and productive equipment operations.
  • Visits job sites to perform safety audits.
  • Stop any unsafe acts or processes that seem dangerous or unhealthy.
  • Follow the discipline process when safety violations are witnessed or reported.
  • Reviews education training plans, safety topics, and training.
  • Ensures compliance with all OSHA-required postings.
  • Performs other related duties as required or assigned.



Qualifications/Experience:

  • OSHA 30 is required within the first 90 days of employment.
  • OSHA 500/510 is preferred but not required.
  • Effective presenter and trainer for all audiences.
  • A high degree of professionalism, honesty, and strong work ethic.
  • Superior attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with all employee levels.
  • Ability to be creative and negotiate solutions.
  • Exceptional verbal and written skills.
  • Outstanding organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in OSHA, MSHA, NFPA 70E, and DOT regulations is required.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record per Jet policy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint/OneDrive, etc.).
