The Stand Restaurants - General Manager
The General Manager will play a critical role in driving the success of The Stand restaurant by leading operations, managing the team, and ensuring exceptional guest experiences. This role demands a strategic, hands-on leader with a passion for the hospitality industry. As the General Manager, you will balance guest satisfaction, team development, operational efficiency, and financial performance, all while embodying our company’s core mission and vision.
General Manager Key Responsibilities
Guest Satisfaction & Brand Ambassadorship
- Engagement & Satisfaction: Actively interact with guests to ensure a welcoming atmosphere and address issues quickly to foster strong customer loyalty. Build rapport with regular customers, ensuring each visit is memorable.
- Brand Representation: Serve as a brand ambassador by promoting, training, and overseeing the restaurant’s core values and menu offerings, upholding our commitment to excellence.
- Quality & Standards: Oversee food quality, cleanliness, and G.R.E.A.T. service standards. Conduct regular inspections to ensure these standards are met and exceeded.
- Customer Feedback Analysis: Regularly analyze guest feedback and ratings from platforms like Google Reviews, Yelp, and social media to identify areas for improvement and celebrate successes.
Team Leadership & Development
- Hiring: Ensure quality recruiting hiring, and onboarding of new team members to build a skilled, cohesive team aligned with company values.
- Coaching & Training: Provide ongoing training and development opportunities, including structured onboarding for new hires and skill-building sessions for current team members.
- Recognition Program: Implement a pin program to acknowledge and celebrate team members' efforts, boosting morale and encouraging a culture of recognition and appreciation.
- Performance Management: Conduct regular performance evaluations, recognize achievements, and address performance issues constructively to support team members ’professional growth.
- Inclusive Culture: Promote and oversee an inclusive, respectful workplace by encouraging open communication, addressing conflicts, and upholding an ethical work environment.
- Compliance with Labor Laws: Ensure full adherence to all labor laws, including wage and hour regulations, fair scheduling practices, and safe working conditions.
Financial Accountability
- Budget Management: Analyze daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports to adjust operations to meet budget targets. Implement strategies to increase revenue and control expenses.
- Cost Controls: Oversee inventory management, waste reduction, and theft prevention. Use systems in place to forecast demand and reduce overstock or shortages.
- Labor Cost Management: Schedule staffing to align with business demand, optimizing labor costs while maintaining service standards. Track overtime and adjust staffing as needed.
Service Execution & Operational Excellence
- Shift Management: Develop and execute service plans for each shift, strategically positioning team members for optimal workflow and service efficiency.
- Inventory & Resource Coordination: Ensure the restaurant is fully stocked, with inventory levels balanced against projected needs. Work with corporate teams for resource optimization.
- Standards Compliance: Ensure health and safety protocols are followed, conducting regular training on regulatory standards, food safety, and equipment maintenance.
Communication & Corporate Alignment
- Goal Alignment: Maintain clear, open communication with corporate and regional leadership to align the restaurant’s operations with broader company goals and updates.
- Documentation & Reporting: Complete and review all essential reports and records, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
Professional Growth and Leadership
- Role Model & Values Embodiment: Exhibit a professional demeanor and appearance, setting a positive example for the team and embodying the company’s core values.
- Continuous Learning: Set personal and team goals for continuous improvement, seek opportunities for professional growth, and encourage team members to develop their skills.
Technology & Systems Management
- POS & Systems Oversight: Ensure the point-of-sale (POS) system and other technology platforms are functioning correctly, and work with tech support when needed.
- Digital Orders & Delivery: Oversee online orders, third-party delivery services, and manage any technology that supports these functions to ensure seamless guest experiences.
Emergency Preparedness & Risk Management
- Crisis Management: Be prepared to handle emergency situations, such as power outages, weather disruptions, or safety incidents, with a clear action plan for the team.
- Risk Assessments: Regularly conduct risk assessments and update emergency protocols, ensuring the team is trained on safety and emergency procedures.
General Manager Shift & Availability
- Scheduling Flexibility: Be available for peak hours, weekends, holidays, and emergencies to ensure consistent, reliable leadership. Demonstrate adaptability in staffing during unforeseen changes or demands.
- Shift: 10AM-8PM (50 hrs. week)

The Stand Restaurants is a fast-casual dining restaurant with 20 locations across Orange County, Los Angeles, Santa Clara, and Houston Texas. We are expanding rapidly and are in search of a highly skilled and dynamic General Manager to join our team. As a General Manager, you will have the opportunity to lead by example, ensure a clean and organized restaurant, and provide a friendly and efficient customer experience.
