Our executive chef prepares innovative and creative cuisine of the highest quality while guiding and motivating staff.
- The Executive Chef creates innovative menus, oversees all kitchen functions including food purchasing, preparation, and maintenance of quality standards.
- The Executive Chef trains employees in methods of cooking, preparation, plate presentation, and portion and cost control.
- The Executive Chef has excellent time management, creativity, and the ability to multitask.
Required skills and qualifications to be a Executive Chef with Alta Via Fox Chapel:
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Able to pass a background screening
- 5 years of experience in varied kitchen positions including food preparation, line cook, fry cook, sauté station, sous chef, and expediter
- 1 year of experience in a Sous Chef position
- 6 months of experience in a management capacity
- Able to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen and dining room personnel and guests
Physical requirements for Executive Chef with Alta Via Fox Chapel:
- Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 9 hours)
- Able to reach, bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 pounds
