Seafood Clerk/Seafood Cutter

Rate of payStarting at $18 per hour

The Fish Market Seafood Clerk must be able to maintain a smile and a good attitude while working in a fast-paced environment and preparing fish for both our display case and the restaurant. The Seafood Clerk is responsible for ensuring that all seafood prepared for guests and sold from the seafood case meets our standards of Uncompromised Quality.


Essential Job Duties:

  • Handling, fresh seafood and frozen product required for total daily sales according to SOP (e.g., salmon, halibut, etc.) for purchase
  • Providing uncompromised customer service, including greeting guests and responding to questions
  • Cutting and preparing seafood offerings, including whole fish
  • Providing guests with information needed to make product-related decisions
  • Maintaining The Fish Market’s standards for product freshness, rotation, and sanitation
  • Maintaining and updating daily menu, food, and general knowledge

Qualifications: 

  • California Food Handler’s card
  • Have the ability to work a flexible schedule that changes as the business changes including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Be able to lift/carry products horizontally/vertically up to 75 pounds.
  • Be capable of standing up to 8 hours a shift.
  • A sense of urgency
  • Willingness to learn or adapt to a new environment
