The Executive Chef is an integral function of the smooth running of Top of the Market Restaurant. The Executive Chef is responsible for ensuring that recipe and menu design, food preparation, and production, within restaurant are operating in accordance to the restaurants standards of Uncompromising Quality. 


Essential Job Duties:

  • Establishing, monitoring and validating daily prep production, food quality, and execution
  • Ensuring safety & sanitation standards are being adhered to  
  • Conducting weekly inventories to ensure that proper levels are stocked and assessing ordering patterns and changes 
  • Develop all kitchen crew for cross training and promotion.
  • Oversee and participate in menu item creation and cost analysis
  • Scheduling staff
  • Interviewing applicants and making hiring decisions
  • In conjunction with the General Manager, counseling employees on performance and job expectations as well as providing input for termination decisions
  • Working with Culinary leadership to ensure that ingredient sourcing and menu design meet budgetary and brand guidelines

Qualifications: 

  • Minimum three years’ full service, high volume, fine dining restaurant kitchen management experience 
  • Proven leadership and communication skills 
  • Serve Safe Certification
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment 
  • Ability to motivate and direct team members and work effectively in management team 
  • Demonstrates positive leadership abilities and keen attention to detail and ability to follow through on deficiencies 
  • Proven problem-solving abilities 
  • Ability to stand and walk around a restaurant to supervise operations for8-10 hours
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds  
  • Ability to bend, stoop, and raise arms above head on occasion
