Assistant Pastry Chef | FS Food Group



FS Food Group is looking for a dedicated and skilled Assistant Pastry Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. In this role, you will primarily support our Latin concepts by assisting with the pastry programs across multiple locations, ensuring consistency, quality, and creativity in every dessert we serve. Key Responsibilities:


Pastry Production Support:

  • Assist in the development and execution of dessert menus tailored to our Latin concepts.
  • Prepare desserts according to existing recipes, ensuring consistency in taste, presentation, and quality.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Pastry Chef to implement efficient production schedules across multiple locations.

Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with pastry teams at each location, providing guidance and support to ensure high standards are met.
  • Coordinate with location managers to ensure smooth operations between the kitchen and front-of-house teams.

Quality Assurance:

  • Assist in the regular inspection and maintenance of tools and equipment.
  • Participate in tastings and evaluations to ensure the consistent quality of products across all Latin concept locations.
  • Help source quality ingredients and maintain strong vendor relationships.

Financial Awareness:

  • Monitor inventory levels to minimize waste and ensure efficient production.
  • Assist in managing costs and staying within budgetary guidelines.

Continuous Learning & Innovation:

  • Stay informed about current pastry trends, particularly those relevant to Latin cuisine, and assist in incorporating them into our menus.
  • Participate in training sessions and workshops to introduce new techniques and recipes to the team.

Qualifications:

  • Culinary school diploma, degree in pastry arts, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional pastry experience, with a focus on Latin desserts being a plus.
  • Strong understanding of various pastry, bread-making, and dessert techniques.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment and travel between multiple locations.
