Job Summary
As Head of Facilities and Maintenance you will oversee maintenance operations for our Old Orchard Beach properties (Waves Oceanfront, Seaview Inn, Gull Inn, Kebek 3 and Oceanhouse) ensuring that facilities are well-maintained and running smoothly. As Head of Facilities and Maintenance you will lead our maintenance department of 7-15 people depending on the time of year. We are a highly seasonal business open Mid May - Mid October and do not plan extended vacations during this period. Peak Season is all about our guests. Off Peak Season is all about projects and improvements.
Daily Duties
- Collaborate with Management, Front Office, and Housekeeping departments to ensure guest rooms are in top working order, and reported issues addressed quickly
- Delegate cleaning, groundskeeping and maintenance tasks to team members, and jump in where appropriate
- Perform various maintenance tasks including carpentry, painting and equipment repair
- Maintain swimming pools, grounds and general property clean up
- Respond to general maintenance requests in guest rooms, common areas and employee areas
- Ensure the hotel facilities are in top working condition at all times with daily, weekly and monthly preventative maintenance checks and procedures
- Work with and support other hotel departments moving supplies and receiving deliveries to keep operations running smoothly
- Maintain safety/security practices and have thorough knowledge of emergency procedures
- Collect bids for projects and coordinate subcontractors
- Other duties assigned by management
- Prepare facilities for changing weather conditions
- Collaborate with GM and ownership on project planning
Requirements & Qualifications

- Willingness to go above and beyond to ensure hotel's success
- 10 years of extensive hands-on experience in facilities maintenance and/or construction managing a team
- Knowledge/experience with any of the following trades: electrical, plumbing, construction/carpentry or HVAC
- Ability to push or pull 60 pounds and lift and/or carry 50 pounds
- Ability to stand for 8 hours, bend, stretch and reach
- Weekend availability, when we are busiest, is sometimes required in the hospitality industry (in season)
