Servers and Bartenders are the ambassadors of our product and culture here at Bluebird. They are instrumental in providing a guest experience in line with our core values. They need to be precise, urgent, and engaged at all times with expert knowledge of all of our products. An ideal candidate will understand that salesmanship without being intrusive or overbearing is critical in this role. Maintaining professionalism while exhibiting positivity and a passion for food and beverage will lead to success in cultivating personal guest relationships.
Members of our service team are crucial to the restaurant experience by acting upon any guest need. As all roles are critical to the success of a restaurant it is everyone’s responsibility to be aware of all aspects of the flow of service.

The primary responsibility of our Service Team Members are as follows:
• Know the details of all menus and be able to communicate them accurately to guests.
• Take orders from guests for food and/or beverages.
• Write down and ring in orders accurately, clearly communicate to confirm guests orders and speak with manager/expo regarding special requests.
• Appropriately course out menu items with a firm understanding of Square POS.
• Check in with guests to ensure the enjoyment of their experience and take action to correct any issues that may arise.
• Appropriately clear and reset for each course.
• Anticipate the needs of guests and coworkers by maintaining a strong presence table-side.
• Maintain communication with all members of staff to ensure ease of service.
• Help run food, pre-bus, mark, water, and any other FOH needs.
• Understand our approach to hospitality and effectively implement it to enhance guest experience.
• Delegate when needed to utilize support staff.
• Be thorough and precise in finalizing guest transaction, making sure the check is accurate and gratuity is correctly entered.
• Maintain an immaculate and sanitary work environment, including dining room, wait station, kitchen, and personal appearance.
• Insure proper alcohol service by maintaining a working knowledge of NC State law, appropriate identification, birth year, and intoxication levels.
• Cultivate relationships with guests- Build rapport with regulars, identify VIP’s and communicate this to managers.
• Balance cash receipts- Close out CC tips accurately, present finalized check out to manager with any cash.
• Exhibit proper dining room and kitchen etiquette at all times.
Requirements:
• High school diploma/GED required.
• Multiple years of experience in fine dining or casual fine dining.
• Mid to upper level wine training, knowledge, and experience.
• Knowledge of proper alcohol service.
• Proficiency with Point of Sale software.
• Able to keep up in a fast-paced work environment.
• Capable of multitasking under extreme pressure.
• Knowledge of food service regulations an asset.
• Ability to work on feet for ten hours a shift.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds at a time.
• Ability to lift 25 pounds overhead onto high shelves.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Willing to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and some holidays.
