The bar back is responsible for general support of the server, bar tender, dishwasher and associate manager. A bar back is responsible for picking up glassware, mopping, sweeping and cleaning the bar, patio and restaurant floor.
The bar back is responsible for draught beer overall quality assurance, including tapping kegs, addressing foam issues, beer line, faucet and coupler cleaning. The bar back will also be responsible for fixing broken beer faucets and changing couplers among other technical duties and responsibilities. It is the bar back’s duty to maintain a clean and organized inventory of glassware, bottled beer, draught beer, wine, silverware, napkins, plates and cleaning supplies.
A bar back is responsible for the set-up, clean up and code compliance of the restaurant floor, including patio and server stations when a server is not present. The bar back will share the same duties that a dishwasher is responsible for. The bar back is responsible for executing all side work duties established by management. The bar back must also greet and interact with guests in a sincere and hospitable manner. The bar back will work side-by-side servers, bar tenders and food expediters under the direct supervision of the Associate Managers.
