Position Summary
As a sales associate at Sibley Hardware, you will assist in the receiving, stocking, and pricing of all merchandise.
You will be responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly merchandise presentation and overall store cleanliness.
This position reports to the store manager.
What to expect:
- You’ll work directly with customers welcoming them and helping them find everything necessary to complete their project in one trip.
- You’ll be on your feet for most of your shift (4 to 9 hours)
- Occasional ladder climbing.
- You must occasionally lift 50 to 60 lbs.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist customers with personal, customized service based on their needs, both in-store and via telephone
- Ensure an orderly sales floor, backroom, warehouse, and outdoor area
- Communicate customer/store issues to management
- Assist with the receiving, checking-in, and stocking of merchandise throughout the store
- Stay up-to-date on current promotions
- Update store displays, price tags, and signage as determined by management
- Keep supplies stocked throughout the store, including bags and other items used at the register
- Keep the store, including checkout areas and entrance doors neat and clean at all times
- Follow all cash register transaction procedures
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent or working towards
- At least 16 years old
- Availability between the hours of 4 - 6 PM Monday through Friday and 8AM - 6 PM every other Saturday(required)
- Ability to effectively follow instructions and report issues to management
- Strong and professional communication and problem solving skills
- Desire to gain product and safety knowledge
- Attend store meetings as scheduled
