Accounting Manager

Full-time
Rate of pay$75000 - 85000 per hour

Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounting Manager to join our team. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the company, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting the leadership team with strategic financial insights. The ideal candidate will have experience in the restaurant and retail industry, a strong understanding of accounting principles, and a proactive approach to managing financial data and processes.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
  • Manage and mentor the accounting team, providing guidance and professional development.
  • Support the month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and analyses for leadership.
  • Oversee bank and credit card reconciliations and manage cash flow, ensuring liquidity and financial health.
  • Support the annual budgeting and forecasting process, analyzing variances, and providing financial insights.
  • Continuously assess accounting processes and systems, and recommend, and implement improvements for greater efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls.
  • Ensure timely filing of tax returns, sales tax, and other regulatory requirements specific to our industry.
  • Coordinate and manage annual audits, liaising with external auditors to provide necessary information.
  • Support the annual budgeting and forecasting process, providing financial insights to department heads and senior leadership

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience in a managerial role.
  • Experience in the restaurant and retail industry is preferred.
  • Deep understanding of financial accounting principles, financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, tax laws, and financial reporting standards Proficiency with accounting software is required.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial modeling and analysis.
  • Must have experience solving complex issues, and financial problems and making decisions that have a significant impact on our company’s performance.
  • Exceptional communication and people skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
