A Shift Manager at Chick-fil-A West Carmel leads restaurant operations by creating and executing shift staffing plans, leading and developing teams of 5-20 people on shift, managing breaks, providing excellent service to guests, troubleshooting issues, and providing a great atmosphere for our team and our guests. They have a passion for people and serving others, have strong character, take initiative and work with a sense of urgency at all times. Our Shift Leaders are responsible for supporting senior leadership in executing daily operations and keeping team members accountable for each component of Operational Excellence and our Recipe for Service. A Shift Leader’s two main areas of focus are completing tasks so that the restaurant runs effectively, and coaching/developing team members. Team Leaders lead by example and set the tone that others will follow.

Shift Leader Responsibilities:
- Open and/or close, lead shifts, key holder
- Create shift plans by assigning team members to positions
- Work operationally in day-to-day activities in high-volume, fast-paced restaurant
- Provide a good, clean, safe, fun environment for everyone who comes into our restaurant
- Resolve conflicts that may arise with our team or customers
- Effectively troubleshoot operational challenges throughout each shift
- Offer immediate and respectful response to Guest's needs
- Assist in training of new hires, set the tone for a shift, and act as a role model for our team
- Be a friendly, encouraging team player
- Count cash drawers
- Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Previous experience management of others is required
- Proven track record in leading and developing others in a healthy culture
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong people skills with a desire to serve Team Members
- Strong commitment to customer service
- Ability to manage and coach Team Member behavioral and performance issues
- Ability to work in a team environment with shared ownership and responsibility
