Main Responsibilities of a Barista:
Summary/ Objective
The Lead Baristas objective is to prepare cafe drinks for guests and servers as per company’s recipes. Lead Baristas will be trained
in recipe specifications for the cafe and follow our standard steps of service for guests who order from the cafe. Baristas
will place ToGo orders over the phone and handle ToGo orders placed through third parties or online. The Barista should
be able to perform the essential duties of their job while maintaining a clean and organized cafe.
Essential Function
1. Prepare cafe drinks including brewing drip coffee, preparing espresso drinks, tea, and matcha. These duties
require the ability to pull espresso shots in the approved time range, steam milk, and measure out syrups when
needed.
2. Give a warm welcome to guests as they arrive. Baristas are typically the first staff member a guest will encounter
and making a good impression is important.
3. Have knowledge of the menu so they can answer guests' questions and make recommendations.
4. Correctly enter orders in our pos system for guest
5. Deliver food and beverages from kitchen and cafe to guests in a timely manner.
6. Baristas are responsible for maintaining cleanliness and stocking in the cafe and merchandise area. Including but
not limited to the guest self service station, stocking and front facing the grab and go coolers, and behind the
service counter.
7. Monitor guests in the cafe area and check in as needed.
8. Be ready to assist servers and bartenders with delivering cafe drinks to tables.
9. Thank guests and invite them back in as they leave.
10. Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the
restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor.
Position Type & Expected Hours Worked
1. Baristas must be available to work a minimum of two shifts per week.
2. The Barista position is a non-exempt, part time position.

A type of employee that we have in mind is committed to the job and shows initiative in enhancing the reputation of our coffee shop. This person should be an excellent salesman and a great team player with a knack for problem-solving and attention to detail.
A qualified candidate must be skilled in using various coffee preparation techniques and coffee brewing and grinding equipment, but must also be able to cater to our guests' needs, upsell when appropriate, and build long-lasting customer relationships.
