Job Overview:

Join our team at Margaux Brasserie, a fine dining French restaurant where culinary artistry

meets passion. We are seeking a Pastry Chef to bring their talent, creativity, and dedication to

our kitchen. The ideal candidate should possess a passion for culinary excellence, attention to detail, and the

ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare and execute high-quality pastries, desserts, and baked goods.
  2. Decorate cakes and pastries with precision, including piping and other detailed techniques.
  3. Maintain consistency and quality in all pastry items.
  4. Assist with food production and preparation of other menu items as needed.
  5. Participate in cross-training to support other culinary operations.

Requirements:

  1. Proven experience with cake decorating and piping techniques.
  2. At least 1 year of restaurant experience is required.
  3. High attention to detail and patience for intricate tasks.
  4. Culinary students are encouraged to apply.
  5. Ability to stand for the entirety of the shift.
  6. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks as needed.
  7. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  8. Flexibility to work part time or full time, mornings (6am-1pm) or afternoons (9am-4pm), weekends, and holidays as required.
  9. Formal culinary training or certification from a culinary institute is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  1. Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
  2. Ability to lift and carry heavy pots, pans, and other kitchen equipment.
  3. Ability to work in a hot and humid environment, near hot surfaces and open flames.
