Our chain of hardware stores was founded in June 2006 by the Dowdell and Shellenberg families of Livingston, Montana. They purchased three stores in Livingston, Butte and Anaconda, MT. Matt was one of Tom's tax clients when Tom approached him to go into business together. He easily drew Matt in by telling him that he wanted to be a business owner to be "the best employer in three communities." So, their partnership began with that vision in mind. Matt oversees the daily business operations while Tom manages the finances.

Nearby, in Columbia Falls, MT, we are adding a fifth Ace Hardware by building the store from the ground up. We are very excited to take on the company expansion and grow our work family!
