City Bark Parker is a premier pet resort in Denver for pet lodging and doggy daycare. We are looking for dog and cat lovers to join our team! The Pet Groomer is a commission-based position within the Resort and reports directly to the General Manager.
Responsibilities
Ensure each pet is treated with respect and dignity
Ensure all pets have fresh water
Safely and properly bathe, trim, clip dogs dependent upon client preferences.
Engage in person to person communication to ensure pets get the best possible care and an amazing experience.
Alert supervisors to any changes in pet behavior or demeanor
Follow all standards of safety with regards to handling pets
Clean and sanitize all pet enclosures, exercise yards, and common areas. Use disinfectants and other chemicals safely as instructed by the supervisor
Clean up poop, urine and any vomit several times throughout your shift; make accurate records of eliminations
Assist Supervisors with daily tasks as needed
Ensure pets feel at home and loved by providing attention and cuddles whenever possible
Work with a team who all exemplify these qualities
A passion for animals and animal care, especially dogs + cats. Willing to learn animal behavior to ensure their safety
Focuses on safe and gentle handling. Forceful, aversive, aggressive handling, vocalizing or treatment will not be tolerated
Must be able to work under conditions that require sitting, standing, walking, bending, reaching, pulling, pushing and grasping
Conflict Resolution - Ability to handle conflict with tact and diplomacy
Good team work and willingness to assist other departments as necessary
Cheerful, friendly, positive team-oriented attitude
Strong attention to detail, especially where documentation is concerned.
Reliable, punctual, and dependable
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and some holidays
Ability to take direction well and apply it independently
Ability to work in temperature extremes, work outside, or in distracting work environments such as loud noise/sound
Ability to tolerate being in close contact with various bodily fluids and to get dirty frequently
Must be comfortable being around cats and dogs of all sizes and physically able to handle dogs of all sizes and to lift up to 60 lbs.

Qualifications For This Position:
Education : Professional Grooming Certifications preferred but not required
Experience :
- One to four years professional grooming experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of individual breed standards and breed cuts
- Use of proper scissoring techniques
