Assistant Manager

Full-time
Rate of pay$15 - 17 per hour

As the Assistant Manager at Disc Replay, you’re at the heart of our store’s action, diving into the exciting world of buying and selling pre-loved treasures—from epic video games and cool electronics to rare collectibles and classic movies! You’ll be the driving force behind a team of energetic Sales Associates, making sure they’re ready to deliver top-notch customer service with a smile. Your mission? Key Responsibilities


Staffing & Scheduling

• Assist in hiring, onboarding, and training new Sales Associates.

• Provide regular performance evaluations to ensure staff members are knowledgeable, motivated, and following company procedures.


Customer Service

• Lead by example in delivering exceptional customer service, guiding Sales Associates on best practices for assisting customers, handling transactions, and managing complaints.

• Ensure all customer interactions align with the company’s commitment to Honesty and Reliability, promoting a positive shopping experience.

• Resolve customer issues with a problem-solving mindset and maintain customer satisfaction through effective communication.


Training & Development

• Teach, coach, and develop Sales Associates on store procedures, including buying and selling standards, inventory processing, and product knowledge.

• Conduct regular training sessions to reinforce company values and improve service quality, focusing on individual and team improvement.

• Provide consistent feedback and encouragement to Sales Associates, fostering a culture of continuous growth and development.


Operations & Inventory

• Support the Store Manager in overseeing day-to-day operations, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

• Handle escalated buying and selling transactions, ensuring proper adherence to pricing guidelines and quality checks.


Leadership & Support

• Act as a mentor for Sales Associates, providing guidance and support as they navigate customer interactions and transactions.

• Promote a positive and engaging work environment, encouraging team collaboration and communication.

• Step in as the acting manager in the Store Manager’s absence, assuming full responsibility for operations, staff supervision, and customer satisfaction.


Requirements

  • Previous retail experience, preferably in a management or supervisory role.
  • Strong understanding of customer service best practices, with a passion for training and developing others.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster teamwork and maintain morale.
  • Familiarity with Disc Replay’s product categories (video games, electronics, movies, collectibles) is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to embody and promote our core values: Honesty, Reliability, Positive Mindset, Open-Mindedness, Passion, and Accountability.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment
  • Able to stand for long periods of time and safely lift 50lbs without assistance

Reliable: Punctual, follows through, finishes tasks completely. Removes any obstacles in the way of completing tasks or asks for help in doing so. Proactively communicates problems vs sweeping them under the rug. 

Positive Mindset: Approaches obstacles and setbacks with a "we can do it" attitude. Doesn't complain, talk bad about others, or spread negativity.

Open-Minded: Open to changing one's opinion or perspective, not stubborn 

Passionate: Passionate about their work and the store/staff. Genuinely wants to excel and do well. 

Accountable: Takes responsibility for one’s actions and takes ownership when things aren't going well instead of blaming others. Takes initiative to solve problems, improve, or receive needed training/resources.


Additional Responsibilities

• Support the Store Manager in administrative tasks, including but not limited to inventory counts, report generation, and loss prevention initiatives.

• Collaborate with the management team to implement promotional events, seasonal displays, and other store activities.

• Maintain a clean and well-organized store environment, following health and safety guidelines.

• Monitor store performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and making recommendations to the Store Manager.
