- Overseeing all aspects of the kitchen including food preparation, staffing, cleanliness, and sanitation practices
- Establishing staff and production schedules to ensure there is sufficient help throughout and to enable timely delivery of food items
- Recruiting, interviewing, and hiring staff, including cooks, dishwashers, and prep cooks
- Inspecting work areas, supplies, ingredients, and cooking equipment to ensure constant conformance to regulatory standards
- Meeting with food vendors to get competitive pricing on products purchased
- Food inventory counted and inputted weekly
- Analyzing recipes and making menu changes when necessary
- Food budgeting and purchasing
- Monitoring and overseeing sanitation practices to make sure we are always in compliance with health code
- Must have the ability to use common kitchen tools, including ranges, graters, and cutlery
- Must have excellent customer service skills
- Knowledge of food-related training techniques and curriculum
- Ability to work neatly, efficiently, and safely
- Ability to follow instructions without variations
