As a cashier, you are the first face the guest sees when they walk in our doors so a friendly smile, warm welcome, and professional demeanor are the first expectations we have. Some of the responsibilities of the position are answering phones, taking orders for deliveries and pick-ups, running an organized and efficient expo window, quickly and accurately cashing out guests while ensuring their orders are correct, creating friendly relationships with our guests, and helping in any other areas the restaurant may need. Because of the high level of business our restaurant does on a daily basis, you must be able to multi-task, perform well under pressure, maintain a professional, friendly, and calm demeanor at all times, and above all put the guests first in whatever their needs may be.
CASHIER TASKS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Acknowledging and welcoming incoming guests
- Inputting orders at the counter
- Taking payment for To Go / Pick Up orders
- Retrieving food for To Go / Pick Up guests
- Communicating with kitchen about the status of paid orders
- Keeping track of “Paid Waiting” and “Paid To Go” guests
- Double checking all items (i.e. opening each box and bag) before giving an order to a guest
- Ensuring that guests who are picking up food have everything they need such as plates, napkins, and condiments. This includes help out to their car, if necessary
- Thanking and welcoming back all guests
- Directing guests to other parts of the restaurant such as the seater podium, bar, or restrooms
- Maintaining the cash drawer. This includes responsibility for the money throughout the shift, taking payments accurately, giving correct change, and breaking bills for other employees
- Backing up other FOH positions as needed
THE PRIMARY DUTIES OF A PHONE ATTENDANT CONSIST OF:
- Answering as many phone calls as possible
- Being sure to answer phone calls within 2 rings
- Staying within earshot of the phone at all times
- Prioritizing phone calls and politely placing guests on hold if needed
- Being courteous and using proper phone etiquette as outlined
- Taking orders quickly and accurately
- Paying special attention to complicated information like credit card numbers, delivery addresses, special instructions / notes, etc.
- Providing accurate promise times for Pick Up and Delivery orders
- Answering common guest questions
- Taking messages for management
- Backing up other FOH employees
Must have a current food handler’s card/certificates as needed
