The Assistant General Manager with Private Event Manager experience is responsible for assisting the General Manager in managing the overall operations and performance of a business or organization. This includes overseeing various departments, managing staff, implementing strategies to improve efficiency and profitability, and ensuring customer satisfaction.


In addition to general management responsibilities, the Assistant General Manager will also have experience in private event management. This entails collaborating with clients to plan and execute various types of private events, such as weddings, corporate functions, and social gatherings. They will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of the event, including venue selection, catering, decorations, and guest management. This will be the primary focus for the Assistant General Manager - Private Event Manager.


Key responsibilities may include:


1. Assisting the General Manager in day-to-day operations, including managing staff, resolving customer complaints, and ensuring a smooth service delivery. 

2. Have knowledge of the food and beverage industry. Generally requiring one year of managing front of house and back of house operations. 

3. Developing and implementing strategies to improve business performance, such as increasing revenue, reducing costs, and enhancing customer satisfaction.

4. Collaborating with clients to plan and execute private events, ensuring their specific needs and preferences are met.

4. Coordinating with various departments, such as culinary, facilities, and marketing, to ensure seamless event execution.

5. Overseeing event budgeting and financial management, ensuring profitability and cost control.

6. Managing event logistics, such as venue selection, and equipment setup.

7. Hiring and training staff ensuring they are well-prepared to deliver high-quality service.

8. Implementing marketing and promotional strategies to attract new clients and increase event bookings.

9. Maintaining strong relationships with clients, understanding their feedback, and continuously improving the event experience.

10. Staying updated on industry trends and best practices in event management to drive innovation and differentiation.


Qualifications and skills for this position may include:


1. Proven experience in general management, preferably in the hospitality or events industry.

2. Assist with Payroll, Tips and Scheduling

3.Proficient in Microsoft Office, POS, Toast, Triple Seat

2. Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with clients, staff, and other clients/guests.

4. Detail-oriented mindset, ensuring every aspect of an event is meticulously planned and executed.

5. Strong financial acumen to manage event budgets, analyze financial performance, and drive profitability.

6. Knowledge of various event management tools and software to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.

7. Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities to deliver unique and memorable event experiences.

8. Leadership skills to manage and motivate a diverse team in a high-pressure environment.

9. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the nature of the role.

10. Knowledge of health, safety, and legal regulations pertaining to events and hospitality.
