Role Overview
As a Department Lead, you will manage the appearance and performance of your department. You’ll be responsible for leading team members, ensuring top-notch customer service, and maintaining high standards of visual merchandising. Your role is crucial in creating a collaborative and customer-focused environment that upholds our core values.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Supervise and motivate frontline employees, fostering a collaborative and productive team environment. Provide clear direction, assign tasks, and monitor performance to achieve department goals.
- Customer Service Excellence: Uphold and promote a customer-first mentality. Lead by example in providing outstanding service, addressing customer inquiries and concerns, and ensuring a positive shopping experience.
- Visual Merchandising: Implement and maintain visual merchandising standards in your department. Ensure displays are attractive, organized, and aligned with ACE Hardware’s visual guidelines.
- Operational Management: Oversee daily department operations, including inventory management, stock replenishment, and adherence to store policies and procedures. Execute tasks with a sense of urgency and meticulous attention to detail.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other department leads and store management to coordinate activities, share insights, and contribute to the overall success of the store.
- Communication: Stay informed on store communications by regularly checking your company-assigned email. Actively participate in store promotions, events, training, and other initiatives while on shift.

- Attendance: Reliable with a consistent pattern of punctuality and regular attendance.
Physical Requirements
- Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods, walk, reach, twist, and bend as required for the role.
- Lifting: Ability to move and handle merchandise up to 50 pounds and perform various store functions.
Work Environment
