Position Summary:

As a Shift Leader at Chick-fil-A Santa Barbara, you’ll play a pivotal role in creating a remarkable guest experience by leading, coaching, and supporting the team during your shift. You’ll take ownership of daily operations, ensuring remarkable service for every guest. You’ll lead by example, guiding team members, and providing direction while maintaining the highest standards of service, hospitality, cleanliness, and efficiency. We are looking for someone who not only excels operationally but also values building strong relationships and is actively engaged in their personal and team’s growth.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Commit to Excellence: Lead the team to execute daily operations at the highest level, ensuring exceptional guest experiences with every order.
  • Take Ownership: Oversee all aspects of shift management, from assigning roles to opening/closing procedures, addressing any issues that arise with a proactive approach.

  • Serve with Genuine Hospitality: Ensure that every guest feels cared for through warm, personalized service that reflects Chick-fil-A’s hospitality standards.

Specific Duties Include:

  • Operational Leadership: Lead assigned stations during the shift, including opening and closing responsibilities. Ensure compliance with food safety, cleanliness, and operational excellence standards. 
  • Team Development: Train and coach team members, fostering their growth while maintaining high performance and accountability.
  • Speed and Accuracy: Ensure all orders are prepared according to recipes, weights, and measurements, meeting established speed of service guidelines.
  • Cash Management: Oversee proper cash handling procedures and security protocols.
  • Guest Experience: Address guest issues and resolve any concerns promptly, consulting with management on complex matters to maintain our hospitality excellence.
  • Restaurant Cleanliness: Ensure cleanliness in all areas, including the dining room, restrooms, and parking lot, throughout the shift.
  • Cultural Stewardship: Carry and promote the Chick-fil-A culture. As a Shift Leader, you set the temperature for your team, embodying our brand to commit, serve, and win.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the restaurant industry, with at least 1 year of proven management experience.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older and authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds for brief distances.
  • Open availability from Monday through Saturday, with the expectation of working 35-40 hours per week.
  • Willingness to grow both personally and professionally, contributing to the team’s success.
