Position Summary: The Transportation and Appointments Coordinator is responsible for managing patient transportation and appointment scheduling, ensuring that patients receive timely and efficient services. This role involves working closely with patients, healthcare
providers, and insurance companies to coordinate transportation needs and appointment arrangements, ensuring compliance with insurance policies and optimizing patient care.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a healthcare or administrative role, particularly in scheduling, patient coordination, or insurance, is advantageous.

Working Conditions:
- Office setting with potential for occasional fieldwork to oversee transportation services.
Responsibilities:
- Arrange and schedule transportation for patients to and from medical appointments, tests, and treatments.
- Coordinate with transportation service providers to ensure timely and reliable service.
- Address and resolve any issues related to patient transportation, including delays or cancellations.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments with healthcare providers based on patient needs and provider availability.
- Communicate appointment details to patients and ensure they understand the scheduling and transportation arrangements.
- Monitor and update appointment schedules as necessary to accommodate changes or cancellations.
- Verify patient insurance coverage for transportation and appointment-relate services.
- Communicate with insurance companies to confirm coverage and obtain necessary authorizations or referrals.
- Assist patients with understanding their insurance benefits and any associated costs for transportation or appointments.
- Serve as a point of contact for patients regarding transportation and appointment concerns.
- Provide clear and empathetic communication to patients, addressing any questions or issues they may have.
- Offer support and guidance to patients who need assistance with transportation or appointment-related processes.
- Maintain accurate records of transportation arrangements, appointment schedules, and insurance communications.
- Ensure all documentation is up-to-date and compliant with healthcare and insurance regulations.
- Work closely with healthcare providers, administrative staff, and insurance representatives to ensure seamless coordination of patient services.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to improving processes related to transportation and appointment management.
