Director of Business Development
Position Summary:
Build strong and mutually beneficial relationships with appropriate target audiences and referral sources, in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree from accredited college/university preferred
- 3-5 years of marketing experience in healthcare setting
- Ability to deal professionally and kindly with everyone in the facility and public
- Works collaboratively and independently
- Ability to remain calm in stressful situations and help out in any emergencies
- Emotional maturity/ability to modify communication style to that of others
- Outstanding communication skills (oral and written) required
- Basic office equipment (computer, phones, copiers, etc.) knowledge/experience
- Patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, must be willing to handle residents, staff, and visitors, based on maturity level at which they are currently functioning
Responsibilities:
- Distribute facility marketing materials (flyers, brochures, etc.) to prospective patients and referral sources (ensuring they are accurate/reflective of the services provided)
- Build community awareness by planning/hosting and attending key community networking events
- Build trust and mutually respectful relationships with key referral sources (doctors, discharge planners, senior care influencers in the community, etc.)
- Schedule and attend luncheons and presentations to promote the facility and its services
- Follow work schedule and other instructions from the Administrator, Regional Marketing or Operations Resources and as outlined in established policies and procedures
- Supports Admissions, assists in interviewing patients/guardians securing required information and signatures and maintains accurate records of available beds and census
- Develops and maintains a good working rapport with all inter-department personnel
- Notifies nursing service if/when patients are upset or show symptoms of infectious or communicable diseases
- Keeps current on Medicare/Medicaid regulations governing admission/discharge requirements of health care facilities
