Brent’s Deli is a well-established family-owned and operated Delicatessen and Restaurant located in Northridge and Westlake Village. We are looking for experienced, friendly, customer service-orientated cashiers for our Westlake location. This is a part/full -time position with both weekend and holiday requirements. Seasonal applicants do not apply.
The individual applying for this position should have experience in:
• Cashiering/host/hostess in a restaurant environment
• Analytical, Organizational and Interpersonal Skills
• Excellent sense of teamwork
Guest Services' number one job is excellent customer service. They are the first point of contact for our customers whether it is via phone or as they come through the door. This means that they are responsible for engaging the customer upon entering the store, while they order, and upon leaving. In order to be effective you must be aware that they are not selling food you are selling an experience.
In concert with being friendly as customers seek to dine and do business with us, cashiers must be knowledgeable, responsive, suggestive salespeople without seeming to do so. They must be self-starters who will study and become an expert on our menu and products. This requires them to have extremely good phone etiquette and charisma. They must also speak English fluently.
Guest services need to be versatile team players, knowing how to do everything from wrapping cookies to customer relations. They should be thorough in checking and re-checking in their areas of responsibility related to deliveries and taking the initiative to make sure that what we finally deliver is exactly what the customer ordered. The ability to prioritize is an important skill for making these duties flow effortlessly. They should be able to make themselves busy at all times and be a productive part of the company.
Because of the sometimes fast pace of the restaurant cashiers need to be highly adaptable. A strong voice and an outgoing personality along with the ability to multi-task are traits that would allow a cashier to do well in this environment. High energy and the ability to stand for long periods of time are also required.
