Production and Delivery Team Member

Rate of pay$13.5 - 16 per hour
This position requires a Valid Drivers License and clean driving record. Team members must be able to operate a company-owned vehicle and follow a navigation system. Must be 18 or plus years of age to be eligible to apply.

We are looking for energetic individuals who are ready to join us in taking our restaurant to the next level. The largest responsibility as Offsite Sales (Catering) Team member is serving fresh and crave-able food that keeps guests coming back for more! This involves following food safety standards set forth by the Virginia Department of Health and Chick-fil-A, in a clean and fast-paced environment. Prior catering experience (1 year) is highly preferred and recommended.

Catering team members job duties:

  • Competitive pay: Hourly wage begins at $13.50 to a maximum of $16.00. Employment type and qualifications determine starting hourly wage for this position.
  • Serve offsite at various shipyard locations (not excluding additional sites) Monday through Friday between the hours of 7AM to 3PM.
  • Must be willing and able to operate a company motor vehicle responsibly from the restaurant to the offsite selling location(s).
  • Load and transport food and other product that is needed to sell at the offsite location(s).
  • Assist kitchen team members in food preparation. Food preparation includes but is not limited to: Working machines, toasting buns, packaging sandwiches and other items needed and more.
  • Follow Chick-fil-A brand standards in regards to food preparation, handling and/ delivery. 
  • Follow Chick-fil-A brand standards in regards to customer service delivered.
  • Must be comfortable handling cash and transporting cash and sales made from the restaurant to the offsite location(s) or vice versa.
  • Maintenance of interior and exterior of restaurant and company motor vehicle-- including janitorial and other cleaning duties.
  • Candidates will also be expected to be able to work on their feet for several hours at a time and lift potentially heavy objects when necessary. Prior experience is preferred, but not necessary.

Catering team member requirements: 

  • Minimum age of 18 years old.
  • Must have a clear/valid VA or State driver’s license.
  • Must participate in a background check (required for access to offsite locations).
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Must have the availability to work Holidays and weekends (Saturday).
  • Must have the ability to lift up to 25 or more pounds. 
  • Must have the ability to assist in food preparing on-site to serve offsite Monday through Saturday at various locations.
  • Must have the ability to work independently and follow instructions as given.
  • Must work well in a team and help maintain a safe and positive environment.
  • Must be comfortable with working inside and outside and in a variety of weather conditions and terrain.
  • Must understand basic food safety and must adhere to all corporate, unit, and state or federal policies.
  • Must be willing to assist in all areas of the restaurant: food preparation, hospitality, and outside sales.
  • Must be able to obtain a food handlers card for the city of Portsmouth.
