Bar Manager

Full-time
Rate of payStarting at $60000 per year

The position of Bar Manager oversees the staff and handles day-to-day operations of

a bar, ensuring it’s clean and functions efficiently. Main duties include

scheduling, managing, and resolving customer complaints, and making sure the

bar’s inventory is well-stocked.


Tasks

  • Coordinate assignments of floor personnel to ensure economical use of beverages, food and timely preparation;
  • Recruit, interview, hire and train new bar staff employees;
  • Count money and make bank drawers;
  • Establish standards for personnel performance and customer service;
  • Investigate and resolve complaints regarding customer server, or accommodations;
  • Maintain liquor and equipment inventories, and keep inventory records;
  • Monitor compliance with health and fire regulations regarding liquor and serving, and building maintenance in our dining facilities;
  • Monitor liquor preparation methods, portion sizes, and garnishing and presentation of beverages to ensure that beverages are prepared and presented in an acceptable manner;
  • Schedule and receive liquor and beverage deliveries, checking delivery contents to verify product quality and quantity.
  • Advertise the daily, weekly, and monthly promotions of the bar;
  • Set and enforce companies policies and procedures;
  • Attend/Coordinate staff & manager meetings;
  • Maintain a fun and safe atmosphere for staff and patrons;


Education, Experience, & Licensing Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Training in vocational schools or a college degree;
  • Bartender’s license.
  • Prior experience working in a bar or restaurant.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Familiarity with point-of-sale tracking technology and bar and restaurant management platforms.
  • Sommelier experience.

Working conditions


Full-time position

32-40+ hours, minimum 5 days
