We are seeking an experienced Benefits & Compensation Manager to oversee the design, implementation, and administration of employee benefit programs for our organization. The ideal candidate will have comprehensive knowledge of benefits regulations, excellent communication skills, and a strategic mindset to enhance our benefits offerings in alignment with organizational goals.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Design, develop, and administer employee benefit programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other fringe benefits for a large multi-state employer
- Stay current with industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices to ensure compliance and competitiveness of benefit offerings.
- Manage relationships with benefit vendors, negotiate contracts, and evaluate service providers to optimize benefits delivery and cost-effectiveness.
- Collaborate with HR leadership to develop and execute strategies for attracting and retaining top talent through competitive benefits packages.
- Lead open enrollment processes, including communication campaigns, employee education sessions, and system implementation.
- Provide guidance and support to HR team members and employees regarding benefit inquiries, claims issues, and policy interpretation.
- Analyze benefit utilization data, conduct benchmarking studies, and prepare reports to assess program effectiveness and recommend improvements.
- Develop and implement employee wellness initiatives, such as health screenings, fitness programs, and mental health resources, to promote employee well-being.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on benefits-related matters, providing training and guidance to managers and employees as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations governing employee benefits, including ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, and FMLA.
WHAT EXPERIENCE YOU WILL NEED:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field of study.
- 5+ years experience in benefit administration, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Thorough understanding of employee benefit laws and regulations, including ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, and FMLA.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, conduct cost-benefit analyses, and make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate complex benefit concepts to diverse audiences.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities, with experience leading cross-functional teams and driving strategic initiatives.
- Proficiency in benefits administration software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP or SCP) credential a plus.
LOCATION: This position is based in our Tukwila, WA headquarters office with a hybrid working model of 3 days in the office and 2 days remote.
BASE SALARY: $90,000-$110,000. This range reflects the good-faith hiring base salary range for this position. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications such as skills, experience, and education/training.
