POSITION OVERVIEW: Our service teams are responsible for providing friendly, positive and efficient hospitality to our guests to provide a great dining experience that will ensure they will

want to come back to dine with us again and again!


The Group Event and Sales Coordinator’s primary responsibility is to book and mange Prati Italia’s on-and off-site group events and lead the collaboration with the FOH and BOH teams for successful execution. This individual must be highly motivated to book incoming leads as well as develop new leads for on-and-off site events to increase visibility and sales for the restaurant.


The Group Event and Sales coordinator must be self-starting, able to work independently in a bustling restaurant environment as a member of a collaborative team, and under tight deadlines. Flexibility with evening, weekend, and holiday hours are required.


The Group Event and Sales coordinator should be hospitality-minded, have a love of events and event execution and outstanding guest service. Candidate must have relevant sales experience and a passion for hospitality, with ambition for growing sales with current and future guests.

 

The successful candidate will maximize sales and profits through creative and pro-active sales-building techniques. Further, they must be able to motivate people to action and be adept at developing relationships with internal and external contacts. This position is a member of a collaborative team and directly reports to the restaurant General Manager and restaurant owners.


Qualified applicant for GROUP EVENT AND SALES COORDINATOR must possess/demonstrate the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he/she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.

 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s Degree appreciated.
  • Minimum two-year event sales experience in a high-end restaurant, catering, hotel or resort, planning and executing large-scale, high-profile and full-service group events.
  • Minimum two-year high-volume, high-end hospitality management experience required.
  • Ability to work flexible and long hours as required, including nights, weekends and holidays. 
  • Extensive knowledge and execution of elevated food and beverage etiquette, guest relations, and service standards. Able to train other members of the team to execute to these same standards.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and listen to English sufficiently to interact with clients and employees.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications to include; Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. GDrive and Canva or similar design program experience appreciated.
  • POS (Toast) and Event Management system (TripleSeat) experience appreciated.
  • General internet knowledge and use, including search capabilities.
  • Ability to analyze client needs and negotiate pricing.
  • Business math skills to maintain Group Sales payroll, hours and tip tabulation for submission to General Manager. Ability to maintain sales grids and track sales goals.
  • Must be self-motivated, highly organized, punctual, detail and sales-oriented.
  • Ability to multi-task effectively and remain calm in stressful situations.
  • Interpersonal skills to provide overall guest satisfaction and resolution if issues arise.
  • Must be able to work independently, handle multiple tasks while supporting the needs of both guests and the sales department.
  • Ability to identify, address and resolve conflict.
  • Excellent professional telephone etiquette and written communication skills required. 
  • Ability to stand, walk, and/or sit and continuously perform essential job functions for entire shift.
  • Light work – Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry push, pull or otherwise move objects. 
  • Requires extending arms, bending and stooping to reach materials in drawers or on shelves.
  • Adhere to business attire, personal hygiene and appearance standards at all times.
