Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA)

MyCHN is a nonprofit organization providing Medical, Dental, Behavioral Health, and Pharmacy services to communities in the South Houston and Gulf Coast area. Job Summary:


The Board-Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA) is responsible for managing a team of BTs / RBTs in the implementation of individualized treatment plans for a caseload of patients. The BCaBA works closely with the administrative team to ensure quality of care, authorization, supervision, and implementation of treatment plans toward effective patient outcomes. The BCaBA models the MyCHN philosophy and culture in their work through every interaction with patients and stakeholders in the clinic, home, and community. The BCaBA oversees and provides performance coaching and ongoing training to clinical staff. BCaBA seeks to ongoing development and expansion of their professional leadership and clinical skills.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work on an interdisciplinary team with medical staff in MyCHN pediatric clinic locations.
  • Responsible for coordinating, scheduling, communicating, and continually evaluating the effectiveness of functional behavior assessments, behavioral evaluations, and behavior intervention plans for patients on caseload.  
  • Will meet or exceed monthly billable hour requirement based on caseload size and required supervision of each patient
  • Develop initial / reauthorization treatment plans and ongoing programming modifications
  • Write treatment protocols and behavior support plans (standard functional analysis, practical functional assessment, descriptive assessments, etc.)
  • Communicate regularly with caregivers to facilitate treatment objectives for their patients
  • Meets regularly with the BCBA Supervisor and Clinical BH Associate Director to review treatment plans, discuss case conceptualization, problem solve any barriers to patient progress, and ongoing
  • professional development
  • Conduct regular caregiver training to maximize familial involvement and treatment fidelity across environments
  • Support quality assurance measures by collecting IOA, treatment fidelity data, and reviewing BT / RBT clinical notes, and performance management tracking
  • Provide supervision and oversight of BCaBA candidates/RBT’s
  • Participate in the development and dissemination of educational and ongoing development initiatives
  • Maintain BCBA certification by renewing certification as mandated by BACB/state regulatory body
  • Demonstrate a high level of engagement in company culture
  • Attend meetings and trainings as required       
  • Participate in companywide projects or initiatives
  • Maintain applied skills and provide some direct service to model for supervisees
  • Follow BACB Ethic Code
  • Understand and adhere to HIPAA policies,bpatient confidentiality, and patient dignity
  • Maintain professional boundaries with patientsband caregivers
  • Must be ready and available to work during regular business hours
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Familiarity with the field of early intervention
  • Desire to work with children
  • Fluent in program development to meet treatment goals, assessment implementation and report development
  • Demonstrate continuous professional growth with a strong desire to continue learning
  • Knowledge of assessment and implementation of Assessment of Basic Language and Learning Skills – Revised (ABLLS-R), Verbal Behavior Milestones Assessment and Placement Program (VB-MAPP), and Assessment for Functional Living Skills (AFLS)
  • Process driven and detail oriented
  • Seeks and receives mentorship and feedback
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills including the ability to effectively multi-task and prioritize appropriately to deliver timely results and consistently meet deadlines
  • Ability to emphasize and communicate with caregivers professionally and with confidence to achieve goals
  • Communication skills, both oral and written, that are clear, concise, exhibit leadership, professionalism, empathy        
  • Proficient in manual and electronic data collection, analysis, summarizing behavioral findings, client preference assessments, and ability to display findings using data collection platform and Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to work and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders from wide ranging backgrounds and disciplinary perspectives
  • Highly motivated and energetic during work hours

Preferred Skills/Abilities:

  • Experience with ABA Data collection

Required Education and Experience:

  • Master’s degree or higher with concentration in ABA or related field (e.g., psychology, education)
  • At least one (1) year of related professional experience working with children with
  • Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) or other behavioral diagnoses.
  • BCABA certification and in good standing with the Behavior Analyst Certification board (BACB)

Supervision Responsibilities:

  • Supervise program implementation of Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) and Behavior Technicians (BTs) to include ongoing training, support, mentorship, conducting performance evaluations (informal and formal), side-by-side coaching, and performance management

Physical Requirements

  • Occasionally required to sit
  • Frequently required to talk and stand
  • Frequently required to utilize hand and finger dexterity
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Specific frequently vision abilities required by this job include: Close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

Work Environment:

  • BLOODBORNE PATHOGENS EXPOSURE LEVEL: 2 (MODERATE)
