POSITION SUMMARY: GNP cooks are responsible for preparing food dishes according to established recipes, keeping fresh food items in rotation, cleaning, and having positive interactions with co-workers. We want to be the BEST in Madison, how about you!?!
Under 30 hours:
Rate of pay: $16.00 per hour with review and potential for raise at 4 weeks
$14.50+ for under 18 with no kitchen experience
Over 30 hours:
Rate of pay: $16 -$17 per hour starting, 1-month review and potential for raise up to $18 per hour based on speed of learning, enthusiasm, reliability

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare a variety of dishes ranging from pizzas, calzones, and appetizers using specific methods, procedures, and recipes
- Prepare dishes by cooking in ovens, fryers, open flame burners, microwaves, and a variety of kitchen equipment, including a Hobart mixer, large hand mixer, dough ball rounder, and pizza oven
- Assume responsibility for the quality of products served
- Comply consistently with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, and kitchen rules, policies, and procedures
- Stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth service
- Read tickets and fulfill orders with 99% accuracy
- Handle, store and rotate all products properly
- Assist in food prep and stocking assignments during off-peak periods as needed
- Perform related duties such as helping to wash dishes as needed, preparing recycling and cleaning around the kitchen
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation at all times; perform open, change-over, and/or closing duties
- Uphold company safety and sanitation requirements to ensure the health and safety of our guests and employees
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
- Kitchen experience a plus
- Possess the ethics and positive attitude that support our values and culture
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and organize
- High personal standards for quality and service
- Personable and able to communicate effectively
- Must have a working phone
- Punctual
- Available for nights, weekends, and holidays
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Must be at least 18 years of age for $15 starting wage, to work with certain equipment, and to be able to work hours needed
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS:
- Ability to stand/walk for 8 hours per day.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
- Will frequently bend, stand, reach, stoop, lift and carry
- Must be able to work in both warm and cool environments
- Must be able to tolerate higher levels of noise from music and customer traffic
- Must be able to tolerate potential allergens: eggs, dairy, gluten, and soy
