A Back of House Team Lead at Chick-fil-A holds a critical position overseeing the kitchen operations, focusing on the efficient preparation and presentation of top-notch food items. In addition to showcasing expertise, the Team Lead provides leadership to the kitchen staff, guiding them in adhering to Chick-fil-A's high standards for quality and safety. Responsibilities include coordinating tasks, managing the break schedule, and troubleshooting any kitchen-related issues. The Back of House Team Lead plays an instrumental role in fostering a positive and collaborative kitchen environment, contributing to the overall success and reputation of Chick-fil-A's Back of House operations!

Team Leader Responsibilities:


Talent/Leadership

  • Provide leadership and supervision to kitchen staff, ensuring a cohesive and efficient working environment.
  • Delegate tasks effectively and coordinate workflow to meet operational demands.
  • Evaluate the performance of kitchen staff, providing constructive feedback and recognizing achievements.
  • Address any performance issues and work on improvement plans when necessary.
  • Identify and nurture leadership potential within the kitchen team.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Maintain open and effective communication channels with other Team Leads.
  • Relay important information from leadership and ensure team members are informed about any changes or updates.
  • Collaborate with leadership to optimize inventory levels and reduce waste.
  • Implement effective solutions to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Enforce safety and sanitation standards, ensuring all team members adhere to proper protocols.
  • Uphold Chick-fil-A's high standards for food quality and presentation.
  • Conduct quality checks to ensure consistency in menu items.
  • Collaboration with the Front of House Team Leads to ensure seamless communication and coordination between kitchen and service areas.

Customer Experience

  • Ensuring the consistent quality and presentation of food items to meet Chick-fil-A's standards.
  • Coordinating with the Front of House team to optimize overall service efficiency and enhance the customer experience.
  • Overseeing kitchen operations to minimize wait times and ensure efficiency
  • Addressing customer inquiries or concerns related to food quality or service.
  • Monitoring inventory levels to prevent stockouts and ensure menu availability.
  • Supporting a well-trained and motivated kitchen staff to enhance overall customer satisfaction.
  • Contributing to seamless coordination between Back of House and Front of House operations to provide a consistent and exceptional customer experience.


Sales & Brand Growth

  • Adherence to Chick-fil-A's brand standards ensures a consistent and recognizable experience for guests, contributing to brand trust and growth.
  • Streamlining Back of House operations leads to increased efficiency, potentially allowing for quicker service and higher guest turnover, positively impacting sales.


Financial Stewardship

  • Implement effective inventory management practices to minimize waste, control costs, and ensure optimal stock levels, aligning with financial objectives.
  • Minimize food and resource wastage by implementing strategies to reduce spoilage and manage inventory effectively.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of kitchen equipment to prevent costly repairs or replacements, promoting long-term financial sustainability.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement that can lead to cost savings without compromising the quality of products or services.
  • Collaborate with management to understand financial goals and contribute insights on how Back of House operations can support those objectives.


Desired Skills and Experience

  • Strong leadership skills with a deep understanding of Chick-fil-A’s food preparation techniques and quality standards.
  • Previous experience in a leadership role within a quick-service environment.
  • Clear and effective communication, both with Front of House staff and other Team Leads.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to address challenges and make quick, effective decisions.
  • Efficient time management skills to oversee Back of House operations during peak hours.
  • Commitment to enforcing safety and sanitation standards.
  • Attention to detail to ensure the consistent quality and presentation of food items.
  • Alignment with Chick-fil-A's values and commitment to maintaining high standards.
  • Capability to empower and motivate others.


Additional Qualifications

  • Able to work 30+ hours a week and various shifts per week
  • Have reliable transportation
  • Be authorized to work in the United States
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for up to 8 hours.
  • A hunger to learn quickly and grow
