Front of House Shift Leader

A Front of House Team Lead at Chick-fil-A holds a central role in orchestrating and enhancing the customer service experience. They are responsible for managing the front counter, dining room, and Drive-Thru. Since their focus is coordinating with the team, they oversee order processing, ensure the cleanliness and organization of the Front of House, and foster a positive atmosphere for guests. Through effective leadership and guidance, the Front of House Team Lead plays a key role in upholding Chick-fil-A's renowned commitment to excellence in customer service while maintaining a welcoming environment for both guests and the team!

Team Leader Responsibilities:


Talent/Leadership

  • Provide leadership and supervision to Front of House staff, ensuring a cohesive and efficient working environment.
  • Delegate tasks effectively and coordinate workflow to meet operational demands.
  • Evaluate the performance of the team, providing constructive feedback and recognizing achievements.
  • Address any performance issues and work on improvement plans when necessary.
  • Identify and nurture leadership potential within the team.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Maintain open and effective communication channels with other team leads.
  • Relay important information from management and ensure Team Members are informed about any changes or updates.
  • Collaborate with leadership to optimize inventory levels and reduce waste.
  • Implement effective solutions to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Enforce safety and sanitation standards, ensuring all Team Members adhere to proper protocols.
  • Uphold Chick-fil-A's high standards for food quality and presentation.
  • Conduct quality checks to ensure consistency in menu items.
  • Collaboration with the Back of House (BOH) Team Leads to ensure seamless communication and coordination between kitchen and service areas.


Customer Experience

  • Oversee front-line staff to ensure exceptional guest service.
  • Address and resolve guest inquiries or concerns promptly.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff for timely order fulfillment.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting dining area.
  • Emphasize Chick-fil-A's guest service standards and values.
  • Act as a point of contact for guest feedback.
  • Implement improvements based on guest input.
  • Encourage staff to upsell and promote menu items.
  • Coordinate with back-of-house staff to optimize workflow.
  • Resolve issues related to guest service or operational challenges.
  • Manage front-of-house operations during shifts.


Sales & Brand Growth

  • Adherence to Chick-fil-A's brand standards ensures a consistent and recognizable experience for guests, contributing to brand trust and growth.
  • Streamlining front-of-house operations leads to increased efficiency, potentially allowing for quicker service and higher guest turnover, positively impacting sales.


Financial Stewardship

  • Implement effective inventory management practices to minimize waste, control costs, and ensure optimal stock levels, aligning with financial objectives.
  • Minimize food and resource wastage by implementing strategies to reduce spoilage and manage inventory effectively.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of equipment to prevent costly repairs or replacements, promoting long-term financial sustainability.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement that can lead to cost savings without compromising the quality of products or services.
  • Collaborate with management to understand financial goals and contribute insights on how Front of House operations can support those objectives.
  • Ensure that all Team Members, Team Leaders, and members of Leadership maintain 100% compliance with all cash handling policies and procedures
  • Closely monitor any and all cash handling discrepancies in the Front of House to ensure the elimination of discrepancies and identify trends if required


Desired Skills and Experience

  • Strong leadership skills with a deep understanding of Chick-fil-A’s food preparation techniques and quality standards.
  • Previous experience in a leadership role within a quick-service environment.
  • Clear and effective communication, both with Front of House staff and other Team Leads.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to address challenges and make quick, effective decisions.
  • Efficient time management skills to oversee Front of House operations during peak hours.
  • Commitment to enforcing safety and sanitation standards.
  • Attention to detail to ensure the consistent quality and presentation of food items.
  • Alignment with Chick-fil-A's values and commitment to maintaining high standards.
  • Capability to empower and motivate others.


Additional Qualifications

  • Able to work 30+ hours a week and various shifts per week
  • Have reliable transportation
  • Be authorized to work in the United States
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for up to 8 hours.
  • A hunger to learn quickly and grow
