Cake Decorator
Pay Range: $20–$23 per hour
Schedule: Some weekends required
This role requires creativity, precision, and a strong foundation in professional cake decorating techniques.
Responsibilities:
- Decorate cakes with buttercream, fondant, and gumpaste according to design specifications.
- Execute smooth buttercream finishes, piping, and intricate decorative elements.
- Work with fondant and gumpaste to create clean, professional designs, including custom decorations.
- Mix and bake cakes from scratch, ensuring consistency in texture and flavor.
- Prepare buttercreams, mousses, pastry creams, and other fillings with attention to quality.
- Assist with general bakery production and ensure timely completion of cake orders.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, following food safety and sanitation standards.
Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of professional experience decorating buttercream cakes.
- At least 1 year of experience working with fondant and gumpaste.
- Proficiency in mixing and baking cakes from scratch.
- Strong knowledge of buttercreams, fillings (mousses, pastry creams, etc.), and overall bakery production.
- Ability to follow design specifications and execute custom orders with precision.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Frequent bending, twisting, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Fine motor skills for detailed decorating work.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards.
