We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our Mathnasium team as a Mathnasium Superfan. This role is not only about delivering instruction but also about becoming an integral part of our center's growth and success. As a Mathnasium Superfan, you will create an environment where students love math, making learning an enjoyable and rewarding experience. The ideal candidate will work closely with students, assess their needs, and foster a love for math while contributing to the development and management of the center.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver Instruction: Instruct students in-center, online, and via hybrid delivery using the Mathnasium Method, terminology, and teaching practices.
- Assess Student Progress: Conduct math assessments to evaluate student learning progress and engagement throughout instructional sessions.
- Mathnasium Superfan: Create an environment that inspires students to love math by fostering a positive and enthusiastic learning atmosphere.
- Innovative Activities: Develop and organize engaging math-related activities, such as game nights, to enhance the learning experience.
- Enrollment and Outreach: Actively participate in enrolling new students by effectively communicating the benefits of our program and enrolling students.
- Center Organization: Maintain an organized, clean, and professional learning environment to ensure a positive experience for students and staff.
- Digital Proficiency: Use a stylus and tablet for instruction and become proficient with digital educational materials and processes.
- Content Creation: Write blog posts and other content to promote our center and engage with the community.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with team members to deliver individualized instruction in a group setting and support team initiatives.
- Professional Development: Mandatory staff meetings approximately once every 4-6 weeks and participate in ongoing training and development opportunities.
- Career Advancement: With successful performance, transition into the roles of Lead Instructor and eventually Assistant Director, taking on additional responsibilities and leadership opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Math Enthusiast: Knowledge of up to Algebra & Beyond is preferred, along with a passion for math and working with students.
- Availability: Must be available to work at least 20 hours a week starting at 3:45pm and/or Saturday mornings at 9:45am.
- Interpersonal Skills: Willingness to develop excellent interpersonal skills and engage positively with students and parents.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to balance various ongoing tasks and keep the center organized and efficient.
- Eagerness to Learn: Open to learning and being trained in all aspects of the job, from instruction to management.
- Commitment: This is a permanent part-time position, and we seek a candidate committed to working with us for 2+ years.
- Compliance: All applicants will be required to take a math literacy test to demonstrate math proficiency, provide work authorization, and pass a background check.
Mathnasium locations are independently owned and operated by franchisees of Mathnasium Center Licensing, LLC ("Mathnasium"). Franchisees are independent business people and not employed by Mathnasium. Thus, each franchisee and each franchisee center is unique and the franchisee is alone responsible for all employment matters in their center. If you are hired to work at a center, the franchisee will be your employer, not Mathnasium.
