  • Oversight of all marketing for the Illinois Conference Center
  • Design and maintenance of website and related materials
  • Design and implementation of marketing strategy and outreach.
  • Management of social media and email campaigns
  • Coordinate marketing with external agencies
  • Assist event staff with event preparation, management, and tear down.
  • Maintain general appearance of Conference Center.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to requests
  • Consults with guests and businesses to define objectives; determines plans and requirements. Negotiates, prepares and reviews needs with clients. Capable of designation as facility Manager on Duty.
  • Provides leadership and directions to ICC staff; verify that staff are completing tasks in a timely manner and work with conference center leadership to maintain positive relationship with staff
  • Develops strong relationship with the catering provider for the facility, University Dining Services.
  • Works closely with the Conference Center leadership, and all IHCC Sales Staff to implement comprehensive and integrated marketing plans for ICC, including but not limited to: print/online promotional collateral, advertising campaigns, website, social and other digital media.
  • Works with ICC staff and Sales Staff to identify target markets and prepare strategies to generate prospects, actively participates in sales efforts of the facility via cold calling and client relationship maintenance as well as overseeing sales efforts of conference center staff.Works with the I Operations General Manager, C.F.O., and Conference Center C.O.O. to develop and implement a business plan for ICC. Works closely with staff to generate revenue through conference/meetings/bookings and rentals to ensure profitability.
  • Ensures that ICC services are of exceptional quality and will learn and train staff to AAA 4-Diamond Standards. Manages the Conference schedule to maximize the use of dates, space and staff.
  • Builds and fosters relationships within the community, professional organizations and other entities to promote the ICC and sign clients. Maintains a database of clients and potential clients along with the facility Sales Staff.
  • Monitors trends in the meeting market and conference center industry.
  • Reviews customer satisfaction evaluations and ensures that follows-up with clients are made after event for feedback; shares customer’s feedback with staff and recommends and implements changes to procedures and operations to improve level of customer services.
  • Attend morning meeting in absence of Conference Center Director
  • Oversee digital folders and excel sheets for events to ensure all are accounted for and with completed floor plans
  • Be a consultant for conference center director regarding issues in conference center that need attention
  • Work with conference center director to enforce precise excellence of customer service and look book standards
  • Work with suppliers, contractors, employees, wait staff and many other parties at the same time
  • Attends departmental and other meetings as required
  • Know and comply with company policies and procedures regarding safety, security, emergencies, and energy
  • May assist with other duties and departments as assigned by Conference Center C.O.O. or General Manager
